Art

As a kid I just drew and drew. It was the main thing I did. I also read a lot of books and comics, looked at lots of pictures in art books. It's not surprising that I became fairly good at making art. I went to art school at Meadowbank TAFE and at the ANU in the 1990s. I am grateful for the fine life drawing teachers I learnt from, people like Jocelyn Maughan and Robin Norling at Meadowbank and Ante Dabro at the ANU.

Some artists who I admire include Martin Sharp, Burne Hogarth, Wilfried “Sätty" Podriech, William Dobell, Clifton Pugh, Pauline Boty, Moebius, Julio Ribera, Max Ernst, Paul Gauguin, and Vincent Van Gogh. I don't know if their influence is noticeable in my work or not. These days most of my art is more and more in the pop art vein.
